Short summary
The free Appearance Read processes facial photos and information derived from them on your iPhone. Completing a free scan does not send the photos, facial landmarks, measurements, classifications, or recommendations to Fabtekk LLC, Supabase, or OpenAI.
The optional paid AI Appearance Report requires you to select exactly one photo and affirm a separate upload-consent disclosure. LooksVantage prepares that photo as a bounded JPEG and removes embedded metadata before sharing it only as needed with the private LooksVantage/Supabase report service and OpenAI.
LooksVantage does not sell face data, use it for advertising or tracking, identify people from it, or use it to train LooksVantage models.
The free scan stays on your iPhone. A single prepared photo leaves the device only when you request the separate paid AI report and consent to its upload.
Face data and facial images
LooksVantage handles facial images and information derived from them only to provide the scan and AI-report features you choose. It does not use face data to identify you, verify identity, or create a biometric faceprint, face embedding, or facial-recognition profile.
For the free Appearance Read, the app uses one accepted front photo and one accepted turned-view photo. An optional profile photo may be used as additional local evidence. Apple Vision processes camera frames on the iPhone to detect whether a face is present and derive:
- Normalized landmark coordinates for the face contour, eyes, eyebrows, pupils, nose, facial center line, and lips
- Face count, face bounding box, yaw, pitch, and roll
- Face centering, feature visibility, framing, and occlusion indicators
- Sharpness, exposure, contrast, capture-quality, detector-confidence, and operational-confidence values
- Appearance-oriented facial proportions
- A face-shape family and neutral visible-feature descriptions
- Grooming recommendations, action plans, and barber guidance
These free-scan photos and derived values are processed and stored only on the iPhone. They are not sent to Fabtekk LLC, Supabase, or OpenAI as part of the free scan. Live preview frames that are not accepted as scan photos are used transiently for local camera guidance and are not uploaded.
LooksVantage does not infer race, ethnicity, health, personality, age, gender identity, sexuality, disability, or other sensitive traits. It does not calculate attractiveness scores or provide medical diagnoses.
If you choose the optional paid AI Appearance Report, you select exactly one photo: an accepted scan photo, a photo chosen with Apple’s Photos picker, or a new camera photo. Before upload, LooksVantage redraws the selected image as a bounded JPEG with a maximum 1,600-pixel side, removing embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS information. The app uploads the image only after you affirm the in-app consent disclosure.
Uses of face data
LooksVantage uses face data only to:
- Check photo framing, pose, visibility, lighting, and usable detail
- Create the free on-device Appearance Read and grooming recommendations
- Create the optional AI Appearance Report when you request it and consent
- Return, validate, recover, de-duplicate, and troubleshoot the requested report
- Protect the report service against abuse and unauthorized use
LooksVantage does not sell face data or use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, identity recognition, surveillance, eligibility decisions, attractiveness scoring, medical diagnosis, demographic profiling, or inference of race or ethnicity. LooksVantage does not use face data to train its own AI models.
Storage and retention
Local scan photos, facial landmark coordinates, pose and capture-quality data, appearance measurements, classifications, recommendations, and saved results remain in protected storage on your iPhone until you delete the relevant scan, use Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete All Local Data, or delete the app. Locally saved AI reports and their selected report photos follow the same local-retention rule. Copies exported to Photos, Messages, Files, or another app are controlled by that destination and are not deleted by LooksVantage.
For the optional AI Appearance Report, the prepared JPEG is stored temporarily in a private Supabase bucket while the report is queued or processing. It is scheduled for deletion as soon as the report succeeds, fails, or is cancelled. If immediate deletion is interrupted, scheduled cleanup retries removal and keeps the job’s private-object pointer until Supabase Storage confirms deletion. Temporary photos are normally retained for no more than seven days after upload; a photo may remain briefly beyond that period only while a temporary deletion-service failure is retried.
Supabase report-job, consent, status, error, timing, and generated-result records are scheduled for deletion seven days after creation. Records may remain briefly beyond the scheduled time while failed cleanup is retried. Purchase-credit and transaction records are retained separately as needed to deliver unused credits, reconcile purchases, prevent duplicate grants, resolve disputes, and meet legal and accounting obligations. Those records do not contain facial images, facial landmarks, or appearance measurements.
OpenAI may retain API input and output content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days under its standard API data controls unless a shorter approved retention control applies. An image detected as potentially containing child sexual abuse material may be retained for manual review as described in OpenAI’s API data-control documentation. OpenAI may retain information longer when legally required. API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default, and Fabtekk LLC has disabled voluntary data sharing.
Deletion and withdrawal of consent
You may use the free local scan without requesting an AI report. Before an AI report starts, you can decline upload consent or choose a different photo. You may stop a report that is still pending; the service attempts to cancel the job, release the report credit when applicable, and delete the temporary uploaded photo.
To delete information stored on your iPhone, delete an individual saved scan or AI report, or use Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete All Local Data. This removes LooksVantage scan photos, local facial-landmark and measurement data, local classifications and recommendations, saved reports and their local photos, setup choices, and local anonymous report-session credentials. It does not delete copies exported to other apps.
Purchase-related identifiers and records may remain where necessary to preserve purchased credits and meet transaction, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute, or legal obligations.
To request access to or deletion of retained remote report or support data, contact contact@fabtekk.co with the subject “LooksVantage privacy request.” Do not email a face photo. Fabtekk LLC may ask for a report identifier, approximate report date, or verified transaction information needed to locate the records. Eligible data will be deleted from active systems and applicable processors will be instructed as required, subject to limited retention required by law, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute resolution.
Purchases
Apple processes payments through the App Store and StoreKit. LooksVantage receives product, transaction, and entitlement information needed to provide and reconcile purchased report credits. LooksVantage does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Purchased report credits do not expire. They are consumed only when used to create a report.
Support requests
If you contact Fabtekk LLC, the company may receive information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name, device or app version, and message contents. This information is used to respond, investigate problems, and maintain support and privacy-request records.
- Support requests may be accessed by Fabtekk LLC’s owner and authorized support personnel, plus necessary email, hosting, or support-service providers.
- Support records are retained for up to 12 months after resolution, then deleted or anonymized, except where longer limited retention is legally or operationally required.
- Support requests are not public, are not used for advertising, and are not used to train AI models.
Do not email facial photos unless Fabtekk LLC specifically asks for information necessary to locate a request.

Security
Fabtekk LLC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS for remote requests, Keychain storage for anonymous session credentials, protected local file storage, private cloud storage, access controls, and validation of AI-report inputs and outputs. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.
Children and age
Minimum age: 13 and older
LooksVantage is intended only for users age 13 and older. Fabtekk LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact contact@fabtekk.co so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
International processing
The production Supabase project stores the temporary report input and job record in East US (Ohio), United States. Supabase, OpenAI, Apple, and other service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live under their infrastructure, contracts, and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
Fabtekk LLC may update this policy when the app, its data practices, or applicable law changes. The current version will remain available at the same canonical URL. The effective date and last-updated date show which version you are reading.
